Advance Capital is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Dutch company Millicom Holding Laos B.V. (Millicom), which owns a 78% stake in Millicom Lao Co., a mobile telecommunications operator in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The remaining 22% stake in Millicom Lao Co. is held by the Government of Laos.

Millicom Lao was established as a joint venture between Millicom International Cellular S.A. and the Government of Laos. The company launched commercial operations of its GSM 900/1800 network in April 2003. As of February 2011, Millicom Lao is one of the largest mobile operators in the country, serving approximately 500 thousand subscribers, representing around 25% market share.

Advance Capital acted as a financial advisor to VimpelCom.

The deal value is USD88 million.
